The purpose of this blog is appreciation. In this space - and through my personal photo log - I take time to focus on and share things for which I am grateful. I invite others to do the same. Enjoy!
I live in Contra Costa County (CoCo), California where the weather is sunny, the nature is plentiful and the people are great.
I start each day with a bike ride - instead of a cup of coffee. On the weekend I love to sit at a cafe to write or read. I am contantly driven to create, whether it be cook, painting or take pictures with my iPhone. I am working towards my degree as an MFT and trying to live each day "in the moment".
I wish everyone a joyful life full of gratitude!
Over the last few years I strove to understand what it takes to really "be happy". As we all know this is a very popular subject these days (tons of books, always in the news) and there are a lot of myths out there.
Through this journey I have consistently stumbled upon a single point. Appreciation is a key part of happiness. This is because happiness is not based on what you have in your life, but how you view your life. Happiness is an attitude with which one approaches life. Hence the startling image of 3rd world farmer displaying a wide tooth grin while a rich lawyer in the U.S. is drinking himself to sleep each night.
Due to this realization I have decided to start a blog to journal about what makes me happy. I invite others to try this out as well. My goal is to post - i.e. reflect on what I appreciate - at least once a week - maybe more. Hopefully by taking a little time to focus on the good in life I will realize each day how lucky I really am!
